Quotes arrive sorted by total, which makes comparison easy and misleading in equal measure. These are the variables worth checking before you decide one is cheaper.

Why does my soakaway keep filling up?
- Usually depth, especially anywhere with a high water table — the pit fills from the ground as well as from the house. If yours needs emptying more than once a season, repeated evacuation is treating the symptom. A deeper or additional pit is the actual fix.

How do I stop being overcharged for this?
- Get the intended depth written into the quote as a material line item. Without a stated depth you have no way to tell whether the pit you paid for was the pit you got, and no basis for a dispute if it backs up again next season.
